Painting Contractor Growth is an independent site for people who own painting companies and want a fuller schedule without signing a contract to find out whether the marketing works.

Who writes it

Steve Meitler is the editor. He has spent years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, painting contractors among them, and has watched enough owners get sold twelve month retainers on the strength of a slide deck. What those pitches are missing is numbers anybody can check. Everything here is written so you can check it or run it yourself.

Where the benchmark numbers come from

The benchmark report is built from public Google Business Profile listings. We search Google Maps for painting contractors in every US state, record the public fields on each listing (review count, star rating, whether a website is linked, hours, primary category, location), remove duplicates by Google place, and compute the statistics. Nothing comes from behind a login, and no reviewer names or personal details are stored. The dataset currently holds 88,392 listings across 51 states and is refreshed monthly.

At that scale, collection errors are real. Some listings are stale, and some painters are filed under general contractor or handyman. Treat every figure as accurate within a point or so, not to the decimal. The percentiles are the part that matters, and they hold steady month to month.

Editorial rules

  • No pay-to-play. Nobody can buy a mention, a recommendation, or a place in a list on this site.
  • Every number is sourced, either to our own dataset or to a primary source such as Google's own documentation. When we give an opinion, we say so in the sentence.
  • Guides are written for an owner who is on a ladder half the day. If a step cannot be done by that person, or handed to an office manager in a paragraph, it does not go in.
  • Prices are given as ranges, because a cabinet job in Dallas and one in Boston are not the same number. Every guide is dated and updated when a platform changes.

How the free trial works

The site is paid for by the marketing work we do for painting companies. We offer every service as a free 14-day trial because a contractor should see estimates land on the calendar before writing anyone a check. You text or call, name the service (Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO and Google profile work, a website, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back and estimate follow-up, email and SMS, bookkeeping, or appointment setting), and we build it inside your own accounts, usually within 48 hours of a short setup call.

It runs for 14 days. No card is taken, nothing renews, and everything we build stays in accounts you own. At the end you keep it at a price quoted up front, switch to something else, or stop.

Text or call (385) 832-6175, or use the free trial page.

Try any marketing service free for 14 days.

Pick anything we do. We run it for your painting company for two full weeks at no cost, then you decide. No card, no contract, nothing to cancel.
